Oral History Interview, Ursula Sue Silver (1248)
Abstract
In these interviews, Ursula Sue Silver ruminates on her life. She remembers her parents and recalls her childhood and high school years in Merrill, WI. Silver moved to Milwaukee and married following high school. After five years, her husband contracted Tuberculosis, which forced Silver to abandon her dream of staying home with her children. Silver describes her husband's treatment, their family, and the jobs she held before retiring at the age of 76. She discusses her children and grandchildren throughout the interviews, and concludes by reflecting on religion, faith, and living in Madison.
