What is a Baby Café? To promote and support the development of community based, drop in breastfeeding support sites offering on-going, high quality lactation care free of charge to breastfeeding mothers. This non-profit organization is free to mothers in efforts to reduce health disparities nationwide and help mothers realize their breastfeeding goals. Every Baby Café is associated with International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Each of the 39 sites had an average of 146 women visit in 2014. 46% of women attended more than once. The most common reason for attendance was social support.
