Abstract:

Files about legislation and proposed legislation for occupations and professions regulated by the department. Included are bill files, mainly 1975-1986, containing annotated legislative drafts, notes, constituent correspondence, hearing testimony, and commentary prepared by departmental staff, and alphabetical subject files concerning the departmental budget, the preparation of fiscal notes, hearing files, and special topics such as the rules governing bingo, boxing, and x-ray machine operators; the use of therapeutic pharmaceutical agents; and the statutes concerning the Educational Approval Board and a proposed merger of the Barbers and Cosmetology boards. The tape recording is a 1986 public hearing on a consumer survey.
