Abstract:

Records of undercover “sting” operations run jointly by Wisconsin DNR, Minnesota Conservation Department, and Michigan DNR regarding illegal trapping and selling fish (Operation Gillnet) and game (Mesabi Fur) from 1980 to 1985. The records consist of transcripts of conversations between suspects and undercover agents, reports of illegal activity, surveillance photos and other evidence, operating procedures, and sting results for all Wisconsin cases. Files on individual cases concern the cases that went to trial; some trial information is included.
