Abstract:
Minutes, press releases, correspondence, programs, reports, publications, newsletters, contribution records, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other records of a board created to promote the bond between state residents and the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin. The board was attached administratively to the Department of Administration. Its duties included communication with the battleship's home port officials, development of programs for the benefit of the ship's crew, distribution of public information about the ship's history and operations, development of a permanent exhibit at the Wisconsin Historical Society Museum, and acceptance of gifts and bequests to support its mission.
