Abstract:
Papers of Democrat Patrick J. Lucey who served as governor of Wisconsin from 1971 to 1977. Included are press and publicity files; indexed correspondence; agency, legislative, budget, and subject files; and discrete files of speech writer Hal Wilde, executive advisers Richard Weening and Hal Bergan, legal counsels David Hase and Allen Williams, environmental adviser Farnon Alston, and other members of the administrative staff; and photographs of Lucey's gubernatorial years. A small quantity of personal material includes information on Lucey's leadership in the 1972 George McGovern Presidential campaign.

Note:

Some administrative papers are separately cataloged because they also include documentation pertaining to the administration of Acting Governor Martin Schreiber. In addition, Lucey's non-gubernatorial papers are separately catalogued as Mss 785.
