Abstract:
General correspondence and memoranda of the administrator of the Division of Motor Vehicles, together with some files for the period when that official was the commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Included are files on general administrative matters including circuit court decisions affecting the agency, highway safety, legislation and fiscal notes, the medical review board established to examine epileptic drivers, agency reorganization, school buses, studded tires, transfer of title during probate, and revenue needs for transportation. Some files pertain to concerns particular to the administrator such as relations with Governor Patrick Lucey, participation in the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators and the Vehicle Equipment Safety commission, and public speaking assignments.
