Records documenting the efforts of the Employee Welfare Funds Division to change employee welfare fund laws, regulations, and procedures. Included is substantial correspondence with the insurance industry, members of Congress, and state legislators; written plans and drafts of proposed legislation for the state and federal government; and the minutes and correspondence of subcommittees of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). The NAIC is a national organization to promote discussion among state insurance commissioners and assist them in developing legislation for the regulation of the insurance industry. The records are arranged alphabetically with a substantial set of correspondence relating to insurance rules and sub-committees of the NAIC. English
