Abstract:
Scrapbooks of newspaper clippings illustrating the campaigns of three mayors of Racine, Wisconsin, and the accomplishments of each administration. The mayors whose scrapbooks are included are T. Gleason Morris (mayor from 1939 to 1943), Francis H. Wendt (1943-1949), and John E. Gothner (1949-1955). Two scrapbooks deal with Wendt's involvement with the 1937 and 1947 strikes at the J.I. Case Company, first as a union attorney, and later as mayor. A folder of biographical information is also present.
