Abstract:
Papers of a founder of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, who moved there in 1836 from Vermont via Michigan and Milwaukee where he had worked as a government surveyor. Jones was active in local civic affairs and also established the first dairy farm in Jefferson County. In 1889, his son, Milo C. Jones (1849-1919), began the production of sausages based on an old Vermont recipe. This became a successful business reaching as far as Australia and Italy, which incorporated in 1907.
