Abstract:
Recorded interviews and papers of Frank M. Stewart documenting Mississippi civil rights activities mostly from 1965-1969. Interviews with faculty and students at Tougaloo College, Tougaloo, Mississippi; recorded activities at Head Start Centers in Pace and Cleveland, Mississippi; meetings in Grenada and Gunnison; and interviews with Amzie Moore, Cleveland; Mrs. Annie Rankin, Jefferson County; Gentle Jackson, Tougaloo; and others. Interviews also include Frank Stewart's notes on the interviews. The collection also contains a biography of Stewart, his diary and scrapbook, some correspondence, and other documents and photographs detailing his experience at Tougaloo College in Mississippi.
