Abstract:
Papers of Marvin and Bernice Nussbaumer, musicians and music teachers from Omro, Wisconsin. The Nussbaumers owned a music studio where Bernice taught lessons, and they played together in a band, with Bernice on accordion and Marvin on drums. Marvin also worked as a carpenter and for the Winnebago Highway Department. The collection consists primarily of Bernice's diaries (1936-2009) and Marvin's diaries (1947-2002) which discuss daily life and work. Also included are correspondence (2006-2010), family histories, an inventory of their home, and summaries of world and life events from 1999-2010. The photographs principally depict music students and the Nussbaumers performing as a band. Also included is a cassette tape of the Nussbaumers performing at the Oshkosh Eagles Club.
