Abstract:
Joan Rausch research files compiled while working in historic preservation with architects in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Files document historic residences, buildings and landmarks, projects, and surveys and include news clippings, journal articles, correspondence, surveys and photographs. Private residences are listed in order by street name although not all streets and neighborhoods are represented. The buildings and landmarks series documents both extant and non-extant plants, mills, restaurants and breweries, churches, banks, schools, and other buildings. The Projects series principally document the Merrimac Bridge and Ferry project's River Crossing Study and Field Survey and the Hixon House project, which also includes histories of the Hixon family.
