The Corn Exchange, so-called because it is where farmers met to sell their crops and swap news and gossip in the 19th and early 20th centuries, was also the name for a block of buildings that are no longer extant. This area of downtown near Milwaukee and Franklin Streets now features the park and veterans' monument shown in this photo. In the background is Franklin Lanes (Franklin Gardens) bowling alley which opened in 1937 and closed in 1987. The building was demolished to build a parking lot.
