A Yao (Iu Mien) woman stands in front of her home in a village near Chiang Mai, Thailand. The head wrap worn by the Yao in Thailand is different from that worn in Laos. The style here is more bowl shaped than her contemporaries in Laos that wear the head wrap crisscrossed on the head. Her head wrap has embroidery on the ends of the cloth, tied at the top to display it.
