The wedding is of Mr. Nai Ta, the USAID Agriculture Extension worker in Ban Houei Sai (L-25, PC 4842), held in his hometown of Houei O (PC 2446) in Houa Khong Province. He and his bride wore the most traditional Yao (Iu Mien) wedding costumes for the ceremony. Of particular interest is the bride's elaborate and large headdress. It consists of a large piece of embroidered cloth atop a bamboo frame with fringe covering the framework and long red tassels. She wears a neck ring of six bands of silver indicating considerable wealth for her family. The groom wears a red cloth head wrap traditional for a Yao groom.
