Looking north on Washington Street. The arches are at the corner of Washington and 20th Street with City Hall being on the right and West Central Park on the left. Schroeder Brothers Company merchandise store is on the left past the arches. Soldiers Monument is in the middle of Washington Street.
From handwritten note on back of photo: "Carnival time on Washington Street and north to 20th Street. A carnival has set the arch ways and control traffic on Washington Street and 18th, 19th, 20th Streets on the east and west side of Washington Street were used for the various attractions. Wojta Brothers now occupy the building that Schroeder Brothers gave up to set up shop in the new 3 story building at Washington and 17th Street. Note the street car tracks have not been laid this far. They will soon be as far as 22nd Street. They now stop at the Bank of Two Rivers."
