The new cement block school in Muang Meung (PC 5292, LS-93) in Houa Khong Province was officially dedicated on September 14, 1972. The different ethnic groups were represented at the dedication ceremonies, including the two Yellow Lahu (Lahu Shi) women in the foreground wearing earrings shaped like tubes, colorful necklaces, silver breast plates and square silver blouse fasteners. Both are smoking a tobacco pipe. Standing behind them are two Akha women, looking elsewhere, with silver-headdresses, short skirts, and leggings. Phagna Houmphanh Saignasith, Minister of the Economy, officially dedicated the new school.
