An estimated 20,000 people came to the UW-Waukesha campus to celebrate the Waukesha Sesquicentennial Celebration, Tomorrow Day on August 12th, 1984. The events included a hot air balloon rally and hot air baloons ascent, flying saucer and spaceship breakfast, farmers and gardeners market, ecumentical church service, children's costume parade of the future, break dance contest, future games, battle of the Waukesha County rock bands, concert by the Waukesha Area Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band, future fair, time capsule display, science fiction films, world's largest painting of the future, home video contest, trees for tomorrow, and a concert pyrosymphonic.
