This aerial view of part of the Akha village of Sobloi (LS-359, PD 8952) in Houa Khong Province shows the village being located on a hillside. The houses are constructed close to the ground with roofs covered in thatch. The village swing is located up and to the right of the village near the forested area. It is customarily used more frequently during the Akha New Year and is thus often referred to as the New Year's swing. Courtship often takes place around the swing.
