This page from a booklet titled "Sixty Years of Quality Canning by the Lakeside Packing Company" shows Lakeside products in both cans and glass jars as they appeared in about 1947. Lakeside Packing Company, with general offices at 508 Jay Street, Manitowoc and plants in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Amery, Wisconsin and in Plainview, Minnesota, had experimented with packing fancy vegetables in glass as early as 1915, but perfected procedures for high volume glass canning during World War II when large amounts of steel and tin were reserved for use in armaments.
