The history of Racine County comes alive through this collection of Plat Books and Atlases. Spanning the years 1887-1956 it's interesting to see the shifting landscape as more and more people moved from the dense urban environment of the City of Racine to the suburban and rural areas of Racine County. The history of families can also be read in the land ownership information on the maps themselves – large farms become smaller, small farms grow, marriages, births, deaths and more can all be found here.
