The Yao (Iu Mien) New Year in Nam Kheung (LS-150, PC 3256) in Houa Khong Province. The three girls in the right forefront are Yellow Lahu (Lahu Shi), whose traditional dress for special occasions such as this incorporates square silver fasteners on their blouses. They also wear silver earrings that are plug-size and silver neck rings. All the other females in the photograph are Yao, wearing newly embroidered panel pants for the celebration. Silver bands crisscross their turban headdress, and silver neck rings and strands of silver are worn around their necks.
