OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - 4140; Captain Marsh superintended her construction. Her first trip to Fort Benton, Montana was made in 1871 and she made 13 more trips there during her career. In 1872 she and the Far West competed in a 2800 mile race from Sioux City to Fort Benton and back. The Far West won the race. Nellie Peck was the first boat to arrive at Fort Benton in 1872 and also in 1875. In January 1876 she was above Little Rock, Arkansas loading cotton for New Orleans. In mid-June 1876 she arrived at the fort but couldn't unload due to a flood. She was still listed in 1892
