A woman peers from behind the bar in what was then called the Kiel Hotel. Several large ceramic beer steins are prominently displayed on the back bar, as is a sign advertising for Old Style Lager. Built by Henry Belitz in 1856 as the Fremont Hotel, the business was later called the Ortlieb Hotel, until it burned down in 1924.
