This view is from the roof of one of the store buildings on the east side of Main Street, midway between Pearl (55th) and Market (56th) Streets, looking in a northwesterly direction. The Pennoyer Water Cure is the light colored, three story building at the right. The other large buildings at the left of the Water Cure are the N. R. Allen Tannery. These buildings were all on the north side of Pike Creek, and west of North Main Street. All of the buildings in the foreground were on the south side of Pike Creek and were the buildings of the Bain Wagon Company.
