OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - T0793; At the time of renaming,Captain Campbell was organizing the Campbell Transportation Company, a contract carrier between Pittsburgh and New Orleans. In June, 1933 she struck Louisiana Rocks above Uniontown, Kentucky and sank in shallow water. In the summer of 1935, she was taken to Dravos and sponsons were placed on the hull. She towed to Nashville in 1935 and was sold to Hillman Transportation Company the summer of 1941 and renamed John L. Howder
