Beaded bag with ecru crocheting and cobalt blue beads
Summary
Beaded bag with ecru crocheting and cobalt blue beads. The vertical striped design has beads in rows that graduate in size from a single bead at the top to a row of eight to ten beads at the bottom. As the bead count increases, so does the width of the bag. It has a very ornate, oxidized metal frame with a floral motif, which is embellished with two blue stones and a larger green stone. The bag has a ball and socket closure with a white and blue enameled flower around the socket. There is a metal chain. The dusty rose, frayed silk lining has a ribbon of tiny pink flowers along the top edges and looks original. The bag is 7" in height and 7" across the bottom. Because the combination of crocheting and beading was common to most of the magazine patterns for beaded bags, it is possible this bag was handmade.
