Film stills of a fancy sitting room. A male servant in blackface (Amber) enters, handing a letter to an elderly white man (Colonel Armistead) working at a desk. The colonel stands up, reading the letter. He clasps his hand to his chest, steadies himself on an armchair, and continues to gesticulate while reading. Eventually, both men go to leave the room.
