Summary
Villagers from the villages in the Houei Kong Cluster dig a trench for a pipe to carry water to the International Voluntary Services (IVS) demonstration farm adjacent to the IVS house in Houei Kong (L-56, XB 6473) in Attapu Province. The farm land was donated by the Laven naikong (district leader, equivalent to a chao muang). The purpose of the demonstration farm is to educate Laven and Nyaheun villagers about growing vegetables and producing vegetable seeds. Here, Laven and Nyheun men are providing self-help labor. In the background is the water storage tank, with the elementary school behind it.
