A young White Hmong girl poses standing in her village, Phou Pha Deng (PC 4263), a White Hmong one in Houa Khong Province, dressed in her best clothing for the Hmong New Year. Her headwrap is decorated with a band of embroidery and small silver coins. She wears a neck ring of 4 silver bands with silver chains attached to the clasp and has two small purses with straps that crisscross her chest. The purses are used more for decoration than for any particular function. They are decorated with small red pompoms and silver coins attached to strings of beads. Over the front of her blouse is another piece heavily decorated with silver coins and beads.
