Oral History Interview, Mark Geistlinger (1593)
Abstract
In his November 2016 interview with Elise Drott, Mark Geistlinger detailed his life experiences and memories of his childhood, college experiences, and work experiences. Geistlinger spoke on how his childhood in California and time in college at Valparaiso University shaped his interests, and how these interests led him to pursue different jobs related to organic farming. Geistlinger talked about his work in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as a farmer; working with at risk youth in Oakland; going to various workshops on how to inspect and certify organic farms and food processing facilities, and working for his current job at the Midwest Organic Services Organization (MOSA). Drott conducted this interview for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program, as part of the History 201: Historian’s Craft Oral History Project.
