Karl Botterbusch worked at UW-Stout for nearly 32 years before retiring in 2003. "The first half of Botterbusch's career at UW-Stout centered on developing print and audio-visual training materials for professionals in vocational evaluation, work adjustment and related fields. During that time, he wrote many publications that were used to define and expand the profession of vocational education. The second half of his career involved field research on improving services to persons with disabilities, especially those with mental illnesses. He has published, developed, and presented more than 90- research articles.
