The project examined a local student co-op at the University of Wisconsin. It sought to answer the question concerning the act of sharing: Differences and similarities in portions of food taken by members at meals. (Do some members take more than others? Is filling ones plate a conscious process? Does this even matter in a co-op?). While filming I also found it interesting asking questions concerning how the co-op is Jewish. This has become the central focus of my project; discovering how members (Jewish and non Jewish) relate to the Jewish customs and identity of the co-op.
