The purpose of this study was to evaluate a character education program that was focused on fourth and fifth grade students. Students were taught about various character traits, including trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Group discussions and activities were involved that helped to facilitate the students learning. This was a qualitative study and data was gathered through student interviews and parent surveys. The information found in this study has limited generalizability to other schools and programs. The data was used to evaluate the Character Education program to determine how it has impacted students knowledge about values and the treatment of others. It also provided information necessary to determine program changes and needs for following years.
