Abstract:
Photographs and negatives of water, power, and electric plants in Wisconsin probably taken by or collected by the Commission and its predecessors to facilitate appraisal of public utilities or to illustrate other engineering reports. Exterior views of urban and rural landscapes show streetscapes, office buildings, warehouses, telephone exchanges, power substations, telephone poles, trolley lines and barns, dams and water reservoirs, and boats and harbors. Some illustrate accidents and storm damage. Interior views illustrate power plant equipment such as turbines and telephone switchboards and their operators. The Superior file includes a 1942 report.
