Records, mainly 1971-1973, of the blue-ribbon task force appointed by Governor Patrick J. Lucey to study the Wisconsin judicial system and make recommendations for changes in five areas: court structure and jurisdiction, court administration and support, judges, court availability, and substantive and procedural law. Included is correspondence of chair John C. Geilfuss and executive director Jeffrey Bartell; news clippings and press releases; status reports; membership and organization information; public hearing statements; and minutes of the executive committee and its subcommittees (Court Administration, Court Availability, Court Structure and Jurisdiction, Judges, Substantive and procedural law) and interim subcommittees (Judicial Manpower, Model/Ideal System, Number of Courts, and Salaries and Retirement). In addition, there are recommendations concerning no-fault insurance, barriers to court availability, and victimless crimes. The final reports of the committee and its standing subcommittees and transcripts of six public hearings are available in the SHSW Government Documents section. English
