Abstract:
Correspondence, speeches, minutes, press releases, and newspaper clippings of the Wisconsin Women's Council, created to address the problems of social and economic inequality for women in Wisconsin. Included is correspondence with the National Association of Commissions for Women, records of the Glass Ceiling Task Force, and records of statewide hearings on women's issues. Topics covered include comparable worth, marital property, family leave, women's history week, farm labor, the feminization of poverty, and educational equality for women. Executive directors of the council have included Sarah Harder, Hannah Rosenthal, and Eileen Mershart.
