Abstract:
Fragmentary records of a task force formed by Governor Tommy G. Thompson in March 29, 1993 to make recommendations to encourage Wisconsin's telephone companies and others in the communications industry to enhance the capabilities of Wisconsin's telecommunications infrastructure. The records chiefly consist of presentation materials for task force meetings. There are few full transcriptions and no meeting minutes. Exceptions are the tape recorded public hearing at Dodgeville on July 2, 1993; the videorecorded task force meeting on June 15, 1993; the videorecorded final task force press conference; and the videorecorded testimony of Scott Jensen. The final report, Convergence, Competition, Cooperation, is available in the Historical Society Library's Government Documents section. The records include Randall Young's full report on state approaches to telecommunications infrastructure development that is abstracted in the final report.
