Abstract:
Subject files, mainly 1966-1971, concerning miscellaneous budget and state planning operations of the bureau and various special projects and committees with which the directors were involved. These include the Department Policy Group, Marquette Medical School, the Milwaukee Model Cities program, the Program Planning Budget Systems, the Regionalism Task Force for Northeast and East Central Wisconsin, the Rural Development Council, the creation of uniform state administrative districts, and the urban affairs portion of Governor Patrick J. Lucey's 1971-1973 budget. The files also document the bureau's two predecesors within the Department of Administration: the Bureau of Budget and Management and the Bureau of State Planning and activities of Directors Paul Brown, Walter F. McKanna, and Roger Schrantz. The Schrantz files include correspondence and mememoranda, reports, budgetary material, and minutes of the Governor's ORAP Task Force for which Schrantz was the coordinator.
