Abstract:
Records of David Burress and other members of the study group documenting the creation and implementation of a tax model for the Tax Burden Study, which was a comprehensive effort to analyze the impact of Wisconsin taxes using a computer-based sample of individual taxpayers. Records of the original 1977 study, which used 1974 taxpayers as the source of its data, include correspondence and memoranda, documentation of sampling procedures, microfilmed theory and operational notes, and evidential logs of data outputs. Files of the 1983/1984 simulations were received in apparent disorder and were not rearranged.
