Abstract:
Incomplete parole files on women incarcerated at Wisconsin State Prison at Waupun and at several county jails prior to the construction of the Wisconsin Prison for Women at Taycheedah in 1933. This series is thought to have been part of the files of State Parole Officer Muriel McGinley whose office was located at the Wisconsin Industrial Home for Women at Taycheedah. Included are personal histories (“matron's examinations”) and correspondence and reports to and from parole officers, social workers, relatives, and friends. Some files contain results of mental and physical examinations and information on conduct and prison visitors.
