Abstract:

Sampled institutional case files of men and boys between the ages of 16 to 30 who were admitted to the Wisconsin State Reformatory between October 1927 and December 1940. Files typically include a summary admission record; case history; medical records; psychiatric records; correspondence; and administrative records relating to confinement, parole, and discharge. The files were weeded by the Division of Corrections. This series is a 10% sample from the Reformatory's files for case numbers 6,235 to 11,632. Every tenth file, beginning with a randomly selected number was retained.
