Abstract:

Records of women who were discharged from the Wisconsin Home for Women and its predecessor institutions at Taycheedah, the Wisconsin Industrial Home for Women and the Wisconsin Prison for Women from 1921 to 1954. The files typically include a summary face sheet, medical and psychiatric examination records, photographs, and various administrative records relating to confinement, release on parole, and discharge. Women imprisoned at Waupun between 1921 and 1933 are not included in Series 2081, and no case files for this population are known to exist.
