Abstract:

Subject file, 1913-1968, of the director of the Division for Children and Youth and his predecessor in the Juvenile Department of the State Board of Control. Included are files relating to administration of the Division and to the Division's responsibilities in the fields of adoption, child welfare agency certification and inspection, regulation of foster homes, juvenile delinquency, the Wisconsin Child Center at Sparta, and supervision of county child care activities. Correspondence, reports, biennial budgets, minutes and reports of advisory committees and professional meetings, and other materials are included. Also present are records, 1921-1931, related to child welfare organizations.
