Abstract:

Case files for each WSG inmate containing face sheets; commitment papers; pre-sentence admission or social investigation report; psychiatric field service report; medical examination reports; chronological history showing all matters concerning the case brought to the field worker's attention between admission and closing of the case; reports on adjustment to the institution; intelligence test forms; and correspondence concerning the case and the inmate's family. For the period from 1875 to 1926 the inactive case files are supplemented by the bound Case History Books (Series 1381). For these early inmates, Series 1381 contains the only available personal data, the unbound files in Series 311 containing only commitment information and court transcripts.
