Abstract:
Miscellaneous records of standing committees of the state Assembly. The 19th century records consist almost entirely of volumes concerning the Judiciary Committee. Early records of the 20th century consist mainly of meeting summaries. Occasional documents include additional information on committee deliberations. For the period 1951-1977, this information is available on microfiche in the Society Library and only a listing of bills considered has been retained in the archival file. Beginning in the late 1970s a few standing committees began transferring true records to the state archives. There are also eight tape recordings of 1979 liquor law revision hearings of the Committee on Excise and Fees, many recordings of 1971-1978 hearings of the Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee, and other recorded sessions.
