Abstract:

Annual, biennial, and special reports submitted to the governor by various executive departments, officials, commissions, other governmental agencies and by some private organizations that received governmental funding such as the State Horticultural Society and the Wisconsin Cranberry Growers Association. Most reports submitted to the governor during the 19th and early 20th century are available in Wisconsin Public Documents or other official publications available in the Government Documents section of the SHSW Library or, if unpublished, they are elsewhere in records held by the State Archives. Filed here are unprinted reports, special reports, and regular reports not readily available elsewhere. Notable are the files on the Board of Control, the Wisconsin Board of Medical Examiners, the State Treasury Agent, the Commissioners of Fisheries, the Fish and Game Warden, the Inspector of Apiaries, the Insurance Commission, and the Banking Examiner.
