Abstract:
This collection consists of photographs relating to Charles F. Cooley of Madison, Wisconsin. Cooley, a prominent Madison businessman known as “Cooley the Koal Man,” ran C.F. Cooley Coal Company from 1876 until his death in 1925. The majority of the images in the collection are of Cooley's Lake Monona residence, 1251 Rutledge Street, Madison. Also in the collection are images of Charles F. Cooley, his family, the C.F. Cooley Coal Company on East Washington Avenue, and a boat named the Ultima.
