(Map)
An artificial collection of paper artifacts and paper items of visual rather than informational value separated from other collections in the Archives. The material is arranged using a classification scheme similar to that used for the Photography Classified Files. Major topics that are documented include advertising, business, celebrations and holidays, education, food and consumer products, events, politics, social organizations, sports, transportation, and war. In addition, there are substantial files of artifact-like paper items such as dance programs, inaugural invitations, letterhead stationery depicting Wisconsin business buildings, and business trade cards. Although the focus of the collection is Wisconsin, some of the material is national in scope.
The finding aid for this collection consists of appendices sorted in two ways: alphabetically by folder title and alphabetically by broad subject area.
